PRP is one of the most requested hair treatments in Pakistan, and also one of the most misunderstood. It is not a cure for baldness and it will not regrow hair from a scalp where follicles have already died. What it can do, for the right candidate, is strengthen follicles that are still alive but miniaturising.
PRP uses your own blood platelets, concentrated in a centrifuge and injected into the scalp, to support hair follicles that are thinning but still active. It works best in early to moderate hair loss, and typically needs a course of sessions rather than one visit. At ASN Aesthetics, regenerative hair treatments including PRP run from PKR 7,000 to PKR 18,000 depending on the protocol.
How PRP actually works
A small amount of your blood is drawn, exactly as it would be for a blood test. It is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich fraction from the rest of the blood.
That concentrate is injected into the scalp at the level of the follicles. Platelets carry growth factors, and the working theory is that delivering them directly to weakening follicles supports the hair cycle and slows miniaturisation.
Because the material is your own blood, allergic reaction to the injected substance is not a concern in the way it is with a foreign product.
Who it suits — and who it does not
PRP is most useful in early to moderate pattern hair loss, where thinning has started but the follicles are still present. Diffuse thinning and post-partum shedding often respond well.
It is far less useful on a scalp that has been completely bald for years. Once a follicle is gone, no injection brings it back, and any clinic promising otherwise is overselling.
This is why an assessment matters more than a price list. The pattern and stage of your hair loss determine whether PRP is the right tool at all, or whether it should be combined with something else.
How many sessions, and how soon you see anything
PRP is delivered as a course, not a single treatment. A typical initial course runs over several sessions spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance.
Hair grows slowly, so nothing is visible immediately. Any change follows the hair cycle rather than the treatment date, and shedding can even appear to continue early on.
Consistency matters more than intensity. A completed course with maintenance tends to serve people better than one or two sessions abandoned early.
What it costs in Faisalabad
At ASN Aesthetics, regenerative hair treatments — PRP, PRF, PRGF, exosome therapy and mesotherapy — range from PKR 7,000 to PKR 18,000, with the figure depending on the protocol chosen for you.
Be cautious of prices far below the market. Preparation quality, centrifuge protocol and injection technique all vary, and they are exactly where corners get cut.
